City 3s Take on Local Rivals Olney

First Half
Milton Keynes 3rds played their first game of the year and their first game for 5 weeks away to local rivals Olney, with Olney 1st team game being called off and their 2nd team also playing at home Olney filled a very strong team but it was Milton Keynes that started the game with the first try, Olney were awarded a scrum and their number 8 picked up and went but ran straight in to MK number 8 Stuart Weaver who turned the ball over in the tackle and scrum half Dave Thomas picked up the ball and ran through a gaping hole in the Olney back line to score under the posts Nick Hackett converted the following kick, Olney then scored 5 tries mainly by shipping the ball out to their centre ( also their 1st team captain) who ran the show for them 4 of which were converted.

H/T: Olney 33 - 7 Thirds

Second Half
In the 2nd half MK’s lack of fitness started to show and with the pitch being nearly twice the size of a normal one, their were alot of tired legs out and Olney managed to carry on scoring regular tries throughout the 2nd half, 5 in total, 3 of which were converted but MK did manage to get one more try before the end of the match after great determination by winger Scott Aspinall who managed to take advantage of some loose handling by Olney and kicked the ball along the ground before picking it up and scoring under the posts again converted by Nick Hackett. Their were a number of good individual performances with back row Colin Wilderspin standing out.
