Seniors Section
Milton Keynes Rugby Football Club goes from strength to strength with the appointment of a new coaching team for the 2010/11 season. The appointment of a semi professional coaching team has been implemented just before the rugby club moves to its brand new £2 million facility at Emerson Valley, where the club are planning to ensure Milton Keynes are able to offer some of the best coaching and rugby facilities in the Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes area.
The new coaches include Sam Viggers, ex Gloucester, Coventry, Rugby and Pertemps Bees rugby player and Andy Champ, ex Hemel Hempstead rugby league and Scotland Rugby league international.
Sam will be the head coach for the 2010/11 season, although will be ably assisted by Andy Champ who is also a highly qualified fitness and conditioning coach.
This is an extremely exciting time for the club with the move to Emerson Valley. The new coaching structure will offer a high level of coaching and individual player development and one that will assist in meeting our ambitions of attracting more people to the game of rugby and a playing a higher level of rugby in Milton Keynes.
We would like to offer our gratitude to PJ Care, 12 Training and Bluefin, the current club’s sponsors, without whose help, this coaching development would not have been possible.
Training is every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm at MKRUFC, Field Lane, Greenleys, Milton Keynes at present although will be moved to Emerson Valley shortly. Any players or potential players interested in joining pre season training should call or email the club captain Kingsley Day or 07766 744724. Alternatively just turn up at the club.
